The client, an US  leader in developing VR technologies, specializes in crafting authentic simulations designed to train medical professionals in managing life-threatening scenarios effectively.

To enhance the precision of their simulation-based training and elevate the overall quality of their software, the client enlisted the expertise of Anbosoft.

Provided Services

Anbosoft committed a team consisting of two QA engineers and a part-time manager to achieve the project's objectives. They were tasked with assessing two primary software products:

 

A VR-driven platform designed to train users on examining and diagnosing wounded soldiers. Utilization of the correct tools in the scenario leads to the patient's survival and the user gaining points. Conversely, unsuccessful completion results in no point allocation.

A web-based application built on the Unity cross-platform engine, parallel in function to the VR solution but with a differing scenario: a construction worker requires immediate medical attention.

The review process for the VR application started with using an Oculus Quest headset. To minimize cybersickness symptoms like dizziness and headaches, the team implemented a protocol involving brief, compulsory breaks every 15 minutes. Following a thorough review of the requirements, crafting test cases, and uploading the .apk file to the headset, the engineers initiated the following QA support:

As a result, the team identified over 90 defects that affected the user experience. Issues included repetitive (endless) patient transferring, overlapping menus, disappearing surgical tools, and object orientation errors.

 

Throughout the project, the QA manager ensured adherence to quality standards, achievement of milestones, advised on defect lifecycle management, and oversaw the overall testing strategy.

 

Effective communication with the client was maintained through both synchronous and asynchronous interactions, allowing for timely discussions despite different time zones.

 

Anbosoft's contribution significantly elevated the software quality, identifying over 250 defects of various severities that negatively impacted the technical performance of the products.

Results
